Biography

Mrs. Marni Kay is an Associate Instructor at the University of Central Florida in the College of Community Innovation and Education School of Teacher Education. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (1998), and Masters in Reading Education (2012) at the University of Central Florida. Marni currently teaches Reading Education methods courses to undergraduate students. She is dedicated to creating course embedded field experiences for her students and has developed and implemented the UCF South Lake Reading Clinic and the UCF Reading and Writing Buddies program within each of her courses.  Marni's current research centers around teacher recruitment and retention specifically relating to the creation, growth, and results of High School Teaching Academies. She was awarded the 2019 Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award from the University of Central Florida.
