The annual UCF Criminal Justice and Public Service Conference received the National Criminal Justice Month Program of the Year Award from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
Michele Gill, professor in the Department of Learning Sciences and Educational Research, was awarded Fellow status in the American Psychological Association.
Varadraj Gurupur, associate professor in the School of Global Health Management and Informatics, received the 2021 American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Triumph Award for Innovation.
The Counselor Education Program received the 2021 Robert Frank Outstanding Counselor Education Program – Master’s Program Award from the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
Richelle Joe, associate professor in the Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology, received the Outstanding Teaching Award from the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
Naim Kapucu, professor in the School of Public Administration, was selected to join the National Academy of Public Administration’s 2021 Class of Academy Fellows.

Juli Dixon, professor in the School of Teacher Education, was honored by the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics with the 2021 Kenneth P. Kidd Educator of the Year award, which recognizes an individual's outstanding contributions to mathematics education.

Su-I Hou, professor in the School of Global Health Management and Informatics, received a Fulbright Specialist Grant Award for Mixed Methods Research Workshops and Consultation at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.
Lisa Jones, professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education, serves as state chair for the American Council on Education (ACE) Women's Network of Florida. The chapter won the national award for outstanding network from the national ACE Women's Network. The award is titled, "Pivoting with Purpose: Helping Women in Higher Education to Not Just Survive but Thrive during the Pandemic."
Catherine Kaukinen, professor in the Department of Criminal Justice, received the 2020 Coramae Richey Mann Leadership Award from the Minorities and Women Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
Claire Knox co-edited the book Cultural Competency for Emergency and Crisis Management: Concepts, Theories and Case Studies, which received the Book of the Year Award from the American Society of Public Administration’s (ASPA) Section on Democracy and Social Justice.
Glenn Lambie, associate dean of Graduate Affairs and Faculty Excellence, and co-author Laurie Campbell, assistant professor of instructional design and technology, were selected as the first recipients of the Sink Award for Outstanding Publication in the Journal of School-based Counseling Policy and Evaluation for their article titled, “Who Took ‘Counseling’ out of the Role of Professional School Counselors in the United States?”
Eric Merriam, associate professor in the Department of Legal Studies, was appointed an Appellate Military Judge to the United States Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals.
