The Department of Criminal Justice at UCF offers a comprehensive Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Criminal Justice designed to set you on a path to success. As a multidisciplinary program, you’ll explore how crime impacts society and learn about responses to crime through systems of law, psychology, sociology, political science and more. By integrating these diverse perspectives, you'll develop a well-rounded understanding of the field, making you a highly sought-after candidate for a variety of roles in criminal justice agencies and related sectors. Whether you plan to enter the workforce immediately or pursue graduate studies, this program will give you a solid foundation to launch your future in criminal justice.
Students who have career aspirations in research or higher education should consider the Scholars Track, which provides early opportunities for upper-level courses that count toward graduate credits. For those with sights set on field work, the Professional Track provides state certification and a criminal justice management and leadership certificate. This embeds the academy into the program of study as an internship, allowing students to go right from graduation to employment.

Scholars Track
The Criminal Justice Scholars’ Track (BA or BS) at UCF distinguishes high-achieving undergraduate students by recognizing their academic excellence and commitment to scholarship. By meeting departmental requirements, students can apply nine elective credits (5000-level courses) from the Criminal Justice Master’s program toward their undergraduate Criminal Justice degree. This dual credit system allows students to make progress toward their graduate studies while completing their bachelor’s degree. The Scholars’ Track provides a unique pathway to both undergraduate and graduate success.
Professional Track
The Professional Track allows undergraduate students to graduate with a state certification in law enforcement or corrections already under their belt. Students will gain a broad understanding of crime and society’s control mechanisms, while also preparing for professional careers in criminal justice and related agencies. Students will also take courses that culminate in a certificate in criminal justice management and leadership.
Location
Choose the format that works best for you! The Criminal Justice BA and BS program is available as both a fully online degree or as mixed mode with classes in-person at UCF’s main campus and online.
Internships
