Accreditation

Ensuring Quality Education and Career Success

The School of Global Health Management and Informatics is proud to be accredited by three leading professional organizations in the industry, acknowledging our commitment to high standards and excellence in the education of future healthcare management and health informatics professionals. Our accrediting bodies include: Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME), and Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Why Accreditation Matters

More than a logo on a website, graduates from accredited health management and health informatics programs generally tend to earn more post-graduation than those from non-accredited programs. Accreditation ensures academic programs meet high quality industry standards and can lead to better career prospects and earning potential.

Here’s why:

Gain Employer Trust and Higher Starting Salaries: Employers often hire candidates from accredited programs because they may be viewed as more qualified, which can lead to higher starting salaries.

Earn Professional Certifications: Accredited programs are frequently aligned with the requirements for certification exams, giving you another advantage in the highly competitive healthcare industry. Graduates are often eligible for Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Tier 1 Academic Specialization qualifications and certifications like the Base SAS, Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), the Certified Medical Manager (CMM), which can also boost earning potential.

Networking and Career Opportunities: According to a survey by LinkedIn, 85% of jobs are filled through networking. Accredited programs like SGHMI have strong relationships and affiliations with 700+ healthcare organizations, offering students access to internships, mentorship opportunities and future job placements. These connections will play an important role as you search for careers.
