Faculty Research

Overview

Every faculty member of the Department of Legal Studies holds the Juris Doctor (law degree), and several hold an advanced degree in law (i.e., LL.M.) or a Ph.D. as well. In addition, every faculty member has practiced law in the public or private sector prior to teaching at UCF. The majority are currently licensed to practice law in Florida, and they are authorized by the Florida Bar to render legal advice and provide legal representation in the state of the Florida. The faculty has collectively published books and articles on such topics as affirmative action, the Florida court system, freedom of speech and the First Amendment, surveillance law, comparative/international law, legal research, surveillance law and the right of privacy, among other topics.
