The department and UCF’s Mock Trial team and Florida’s Joint Center for Citizenship held a Teach-In event for Florida public school educators. High school and middle school social studies and civics teachers from Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties spent the day learning how to incorporate mock trial techniques into the classroom. The teachers were given guidance on how to make a program work from speakers such as UCF Legal Studies faculty members and local lawyers. The day ended with UCF’s mock trial students flipping roles with teachers and instructing them on how to conduct a mock trial.
