Biography

I started at UCF in April of 2022.  I have a passion for higher education.   I have over twenty years of experience working in higher education in different capacities, including Graduate Admissions for medically related programs at Nova Southeastern University, such as the Anesthesiology Assistant programs and the Vascular Sonography programs.  I have also worked in the Physical Therapy Program and School of Communication Advising Office at the University of Miami. Before that I worked as a generalist within the Florida Keys Community College Human Resources Office as well as Barry University in Miami Shores. I moved up to Orlando from the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area, where I worked as a professional academic advisor for Florida International University from 2012 – 2019.  I loved advising students who were majoring in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, Asian Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies and Liberal Studies during my time at FIU.  I also gained experience in processing graduation certifications for the College of Arts and Sciences.  I am excited to continue in my continued career choice here at UCF!

On a personal note, I’ve been with my spouse for over 23 years.  I have a 13 year old tanned English cocker, named Max, and recently gained a new family member, a 14 year old Dachshund named Shadow. We love the weather here in Orlando, especially during the winter months.  It is a bit cooler than Miami, so we get a little break from the heat.  I enjoy reading, beach time and great Mexican food!  I love seeing others accomplish their goals and dreams.  I find the Downtown campus at UCF very unique and I love the collaborations it has with the local community and Valencia College.
