Biography

Elizabeth Lugo completed her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and a Qualified Clinical Supervisor for the state of Florida. She has worked with victims of crime, human trafficking, and was a first respondent to the Pulse Shooting in Orlando. Her research interests include effects of trauma in children and adolescents, social connectedness, and implementation of wellness programs. Elizabeth is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling (IARTC), the Association for Counselor Education & Supervision (ACES), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association (FMHCA).
