Ross Wolf, Ed.D., M.P.A.
Associate Professor and Associate Dean, Academic and Community Initiatives
Dr. Ross Wolf holds a Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration and Education Leadership and a Master's degree in Public Administration. He also has twenty-five years of experience as a law enforcement officer. He has served as a member of patrol, criminal investigations, specialized patrol, and a plainclothes tactical unit. Dr. Wolf holds several advanced training certificates from the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Division including Law Enforcement Instructor, Criminal Law, and Investigative Interviewing. He has co-authored three course textbooks on police interviewing and over twenty refereed articles and book chapters on campus law enforcement, police administration and management, reserve and volunteer policing, police use of force, tourism policing, and international policing. In addition to his work with police agencies throughout the United States, he has worked with the police in the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Russia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Dr. Wolf was appointed to and serves on the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Police Administration Committee, and on the National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) Reserve Law Enforcement Officer Committee. He was awarded the United States Presidential “Daily Point of Light” Award in 2014, the National Sheriffs' Association “Medal of Merit” in 2014, and the Presidential “Lifetime Call to Service Award” in 2006 for his work with volunteer and reserve policing. In addition to numerous other law enforcement recognitions, he has been awarded the Orange County (Florida) Sheriff's Office Administrative Excellence Award, the Sheriff's Citation, and the Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Wolf has also received numerous faculty awards, including the University “Teaching Faculty Leadership Award,” the “Excellence in Professional Service Award,” and the “Administrative Faculty Leadership Award.” In 2009 he was named Research Fellow by the UCF College of Health and Public Affairs. Dr. Wolf is a former gubernatorial-appointed member of the State of Florida Board of Regents.
