Colleen Campbell

Colleen Campbell, a student in the Social Work Track, presented her ongoing research on violence against home health care workers at the Fourth International Conference on Violence in the Health Sector, held Oct. 22-24 in Miami.

Campbell made two oral presentations at the conference, a 90-minute workshop and a 30-minute lecture, both of which were published in the conference proceedings. They focused on the ethical dilemma posed by this workforce problem and organizational intervention strategies aimed at reducing this form of violence.

Campbell is also a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker working for the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center out of Gainesville.

Lloyd Duran

Lloyd Duran (M.S.W.’10) is a full-time doctoral student in the Social Work Track and a graduate teaching associate.

Duran is studying reintegration services for veterans returning from deployment and works part-time at the Orlando Veterans Administration Medical Center.

“I am a Marine Corps veteran of the invasion of Iraq, so I enjoy working with that population because I am a part of it,” Duran said.

His hometown is Hialeah, Fla.
