For Community Members

Community partners are valuable resources for schools. New programs, activities, and materials for science education can be a cost that schools simply can’t afford. Even small contributions for a single class, such as consumable science materials, can make a big difference. If you want to help but don’t know how, reach out to your local elementary school and ask what they need.

Other ways that community partners can support their local schools in science achievement include:

  • Volunteering to tutor or helping with a science club at the school.
  • Visiting the classrooms to share career information or engaging activities related to your field.
  • Sponsoring a science-related school event or field trip.
  • Sponsoring a community garden, engineering competition, solar panel project, and more.
