Courses for the dual Public Administration MPA and Public Affairs PhD program are held at UCF Downtown, a modern campus located in the heart of Orlando’s civic and nonprofit organizations. This prime location places you close to the agencies, organizations, and leaders shaping public policy in Central Florida. From capstone projects to networking events, UCF Downtown offers real-world connections that enhance your academic experience and help you grow as a public service professional.
Admission
Applicants should apply directly to the dual-degree track of either the MPA or the PhD program. Only one application is required. A GRE is required for admission.

Capstone
As you near the finish line of your dual MPA/MNM program, you’ll complete a capstone experience that brings everything together. These final courses are designed to help you apply what you’ve learned in real-world contexts. Working with real organizations, you’ll deepen your understanding of leadership, policy, and management while tackling the complex challenges facing public and nonprofit organizations today.
Professional Program Memberships
As a student in the program, you’ll be connected to professional networks through memberships in the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the Florida City/County Management Association (FCCMA). You'll have the opportunity to participate in the ICMA student chapter, attend the annual conference for free, and even explore national and international events. These experiences help you develop as a leader, expand your network, and gain a deeper understanding of the field.
Certificates
Already enrolled in a graduate program through the School of Public Administration? You may have the opportunity to count some of your coursework toward a graduate certificate. A separate application is required, but adding a certificate is a smart way to grow your skills and boost your professional profile.
