Leverage Your Military Experience in a Public Service Career
Leaving the military is a big decision — one that closes a deeply meaningful chapter. As a veteran transitioning into civilian life, you may not know what the future holds. Through Service to Service, a national pilot program for veterans, we can help you find a fulfilling new purpose in the world of public administration. Service to Service is a partnership among three organizations: The Volcker Alliance, We the Veterans, and the University of Central Florida’s Office of Military and Veteran Success.
Public administration is an essential field that keeps our world accountable, orderly and safe. The Service to Service initiative gives you and your family a pipeline into that field by leading you through one of several higher-education pathways in the School of Public Administration to the public service career of your choice. With a range of majors to explore — public administration, emergency and crisis management, nonprofit management, public policy, regional and urban planning, and more — you can decide which specialization is right for you.
As a UCF student in the Service to Service program, you’ll have access to a host of benefits including mentorship, community-building and professional development resources. You can also network nationally with cohorts at other universities and receive facilitated job placement. As UCF is one of only 12 universities nationwide participating in this program — and the only one in the Southeast — you have the unique and exciting opportunity of joining the very first Knight cohort.
You may have left the service, but you don’t have to stop serving. If you’re looking for a new direction after military life, Service to Service can help you forge a rewarding new career in public administration. Now that you’ve served your country, you have the chance to serve your community.
Your next chapter begins here.
