Each year, the College of Community Innovation and Education hosts a staff social and award ceremony to recognize employees for their exceptional service to both the college and UCF. Potential honorees are first nominated by their colleagues based on qualities such as dedication, initiative, leadership and teamwork. Awardees are then selected by a review committee consisting of representatives from the Dean's Cabinet and the Academic, Administrative Lead, Faculty and Staff councils.

The five award categories are Academic Unit Service Excellence, Administrative Unit Service Excellence, Collegiality, Leadership and Unsung Hero. Recipients received a plaque and monetary prize. Congratulations to the 2023-24 winners, who were recognized at the college’s staff social on Thursday, April 25:

• Academic Unit Service Excellence Award: Lindsay Archambault, Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education
• Administrative Unit Service Excellence Award: Leah Mitchell, Graduate Affairs
• Collegiality Award: Stacey Royalty-Rose, Finance Business Center
• Leadership Award: Erin Blackwell, Research Administration Services Team
• Unsung Hero Award: Damien Chaffin, Human Resources Business Center

Additionally, three retiring employees were recognized for their years of service to the college: Maureen Au, Roanne Brice and Tish Sheppard.
