Biography

Heather Summers completed her Master’s degree in School Counseling at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Her work experience includes several years as a middle school counselor with an emphasis on social justice and equity. Heather is a Certified School Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Trauma and Crisis Intervention Specialist, and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion specialist through the American School Counseling Association. Her research interests include social justice and anti-racist counseling in schools and with youth. Heather is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the American School Counseling Association (ASCA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the Florida School Counseling Association (FSCA). Heather was recognized as the Middle School Counselor of the Year for Osceola County Public Schools (2020-2021) and has been a member and former officer of Chi Sigma Iota.
