Biography

Jessie completed her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She has worked for several years as a professional counselor serving children, adolescents, and families. Her research interests include working with individuals at the intersection of mental health and achievement as well as working with LGBTGEQIAP+ youth. Jessie is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Counselor Education & Supervision (ACES), the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES), the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE), and the Florida Mental Health Counselor Association (FMHCA).
