Biography
Dr. Stacy M. Van Horn is a senior lecturer of counselor education at the University of Central Florida in the Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology. Prior to her position as a Counselor Educator, Dr. Van Horn worked as a professional school counselor for over ten years in Orange County Public Schools working with diverse students, teachers, and families in Central Florida. She is currently the Coordinator of the School Counseling Program and Coordinator of the newly revised Graduate Career Counseling Certificate. Her research interests include the role of professional school counselors in addressing career and college readiness, the integration of service learning and experiential practices in teaching, and the training and supervision of professional school counselors. Dr. Van Horn is currently the President-Elect of the Florida Career Development Association for 2017-2018. She presents at national, regional, state, and local counseling conferences and is an active member in various professional counseling organizations.
