Talk therapy works. According to the American Psychological Association, about 75 percent of people who begin therapy report meaningful improvement in how they feel — and how they show up. Real, measurable benefits include reduced medical concerns, fewer sick days, less disability, and even greater satisfaction at work and in daily life.
At UCF’s Community Counseling and Research Center (CCRC), we’re here to help you experience those kinds of meaningful changes. As one of the largest working educational clinics in the country, we offer high-quality, free counseling services in a welcoming, confidential setting. Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions or simply looking for support, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to go it alone.
Here, you’ll work one-on-one with a trained, compassionate graduate student from UCF’s nationally ranked counseling program, under the close supervision of experienced faculty and advanced doctoral students. Together, you’ll develop a treatment plan rooted in the most recent evidence-based care that supports your growth and goals.
Whether you're working through stress and anxiety, want to strengthen intimacy in your relationship, or find healthier ways to resolve conflict, we’re here to meet you where you are — and help you take the next step forward.

Helping You — and the Counseling Profession — Move Forward
Our work together does more than support your growth — it helps strengthen the future of counseling itself. But don’t worry. You’re not the one being studied. Our counselors-in-training are. Through both observational and experimental research, our faculty and graduate students evaluate each other’s clinical skills and professional dispositions to understand what leads to the best possible outcomes for clients. These insights have been published in leading counseling journals and are shaping how future counselors are trained and how licensed counselors operate nationwide. Simply put, your care helps ensure better care for you — and everyone who comes after you.
In the Community, For the Community
We may be located on UCF’s main campus, but our reach extends far beyond it. You may find us at local schools, participating in community walks and presenting at local organizations. That’s because our faculty and students are deeply committed to supporting the mental health and wellness of children, adults and families across Central Florida — especially in communities where care is often hardest to find. Through outreach, education and collaborations, we’re working to make counseling more visible, accessible and welcoming to everyone.
