Preparing high school students to become future teachers 👨‍🏫 That is the goal of the partnership between UCF and the Future Teachers Magnet program at Edgewater High School. Students in the program learn to manage a classroom and write lesson plans. They are also dual-enrolled at Valencia College and receive college credit.

"We want to recruit students when they're in high school because that's when they're making decisions," said Norine Blanch, associate lecturer at UCF.

Christopher Emrich and a team of UCF researchers developed a tool to help renters and homeowners prepare for the next big storm. HazardAware allows users to input an address and receive a HazardReady score, which shows how disaster-ready their house is based on 15 potential threats, such as wind and flooding.
