Raquel Lozano, a public administration and political science student, begins her role as an elected representative for District 3 on the Orange County Soil and Water Conservation District this week.

Lozano has always had a passion for helping others. “I always liked the idea of working for people, working for a community. This position isn’t something that I just want on a resume. We need to make sure we manage our resources well, that we aren’t depleting it all mindlessly, and that we encourage businesses and local government to promote sustainable initiatives.”
