Biography

Donna Walsh has served as the president and CEO of nonprofit organization Shepherd’s Hope since her retirement from the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County. She is a nurse and epidemiologist who has over 35 years of experience in public health, including over 18 years in leadership with the Florida Department of Health. She has co-authored several academic publications and presented on public health topics in professional and community forums. She has previously served on multiple community boards, including the Seminole County Opioid Council, Leadership Seminole, Seminole County Youth Commission Board of Directors, J. Douglas Williams YMCA Family Center Board of Directors in Lake Mary, Central Florida Cares Board of Directors, Central Florida Health and Hunger Task Force, and Healthy Seminole Collaborative. She was also honored with the Central Florida Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration and UCF School of Public Administration’s 2015 Public Service Excellence Award, 2017 Alumni Achievement Award and 2018 Outstanding Alumni Award. Walsh earned both her bachelor’s in nursing and her master’s in public administration from UCF.
