Laura Pimentel is a fifth-grade teacher at Millennia Gardens Elementary. She has been a teacher for 7 years. Laura earned her Master’s degree in K-8 Mathematics and Science Education from the University of Central Florida through a partnership with Lockheed Martin. Some of Laura’s accomplishments include launching the Math Acceleration Program at her school, planning and implementing Math Lab lessons for her grade level, and being a teacher leader in mathematics instruction. She has also been the team leader for her grade level for two years in a row. What Laura finds most exciting about being a Noyce Fellow is having the opportunity to initiate this program alongside other passionate and talented mathematics educators while learning from experienced professionals and implementing new strategies and resources with her students.
