Biography
Dr. Michael J. Gilbrook has a B.S. in Limnology, an M.S. in Biological Science, and a PhD in Applied Conservation Biology from the University of Central Florida. He has nearly 40 years of experience using GIS for environmental planning and environmental impact assessment in both the public and private sectors. Recent projects included using GIS to help evaluate the risks to urban infrastructure from sea level rise in south Florida and helping to prepare Florida’s statewide electric vehicle infrastructure plan. Since 2003, Dr. Gilbrook has taught introductory and advanced classes in GIS as part of the Environmental Studies, Environmental Science and Sustainability degree programs.
