Dr. Sarah Lumpkin is a mathematics intervention teacher at Pinewood Elementary School. She has been a teacher for 30 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Florida Memorial University. She matriculated to the University of Central Florida and earned her master’s degree in K-8 Mathematics and Science and her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Some of her accomplishments include Teacher of the Year, OCPS Hero Teacher, and Teacher of the Month. She was also recognized for Outstanding Leadership – Charter School of Excellence. She has served as grade level chairperson, District Professional Learning Community representative, MTSS Coordinator, SELL Site team member, and Black History Committee event coordinator. What she finds most exciting about being a Noyce Fellow is the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, parents, school leaders, and district officials. Her goal is to make a lasting imprint in education by destroying inequitable structures that deny students’ access to quality education and resources.
