Biography

Serene Hasan completed her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, from the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS), and Qualified Supervisor (QS). Serene’s experience includes treating clients at various levels of care, such as inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. She has worked in community mental health and private practice. Serene’s research interests include wellness and self-care practices of counselors, the intersectionality of multicultural identities, social justice, communication, relationships, and complex trauma. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (SACES), and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP).
