Dr. Shane Wiggan is a dedicated sixth and seventh grade teacher at Liberty Middle School with 9 years of experience in the classroom. He holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, with his dissertation focusing on the recruitment and retention of Black male mathematics teachers through a narrative inquiry approach. Dr. Wiggan also earned a master’s degree in Teaching from Marian University in Indiana. His diverse educational background includes work with Teach For America, Boys & Girls Club, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Dr. Wiggan is currently collaborating with the UCF Department of Mathematics Math Circle to create innovative, joyful mathematics lesson plans for sixth grade students. As a Noyce Fellow, he is passionate about driving systemic change in education to better support underrepresented students in STEM fields.
