Biography

Dr. Stacey Malaret is a Lecturer in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Central Florida, where she teaches leadership studies courses focused on leadership development, civic engagement, and service-learning. She joined the faculty in 2026 after serving as Director of the LEAD Scholars Academy. She has been working at UCF since 2001.

Throughout her career, Dr. Malaret has been dedicated to helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to lead positive change in their communities. Her expertise includes leadership education, student development, service-learning, civic engagement, experiential learning, and program assessment. Under her leadership, the LEAD Scholars Academy earned national recognition, including multiple NASPA Excellence Awards for innovative practices in leadership development and community engagement.

Dr. Malaret regularly presents at regional and national conferences on leadership education, service-learning, student engagement, and a sense of belonging. Her professional interests include the social change model, high-impact educational practices, service-learning, and the role of service in fostering student growth and social responsibility.

In the classroom, she is committed to creating engaging learning experiences that help students connect leadership theory to practice while developing the skills needed to make meaningful contributions in their organizations, communities, and professions.

Dr. Malaret earned her doctorate in Education Leadership from the University of Central Florida in 2007.
