Biography

Tamara Makki completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego, in San Diego, California. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) in California and a Registered Mental Health Counseling intern (RMHCI) in Florida. Tamara’s clinical experiences include working with children, youth, and families from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds in community-based programs, residential settings, and private practice. Tamara’s research interests include Arab experiences in higher education, social change, and the intersectionality of multicultural identities. Tamara is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD), American Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African Psychological Association (AMENA-Psy), and the California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC).
