Make a difference where it matters — in communities, not corporations. UCF’s Master of Public Administration program is built for students who believe in the power of public service. With 228 students as part of the Fall 2024 cohort, it’s one of the largest MPA programs in the Southeast. Here, you’ll find the tools, training and real-world experience to launch your career in public service or take your existing work to the next level with advanced leadership and policy skills.
You’ll grow your skills in ethical leadership, community engagement, policy and financial analysis, and communication, all in a program deeply connected to the people it serves. Through hands-on learning opportunities like internships, service-learning, research and community-based projects, you’ll graduate ready to drive meaningful change in local and global communities.
Choose the path that works for you: complete your MPA fully online or in a traditional format at UCF Downtown, where you’ll learn in the heart of Orlando’s public and nonprofit landscape.

Location
Complete your MPA fully online or in a traditional format at UCF Downtown, a modern campus located in the center of Orlando’s thriving public and nonprofit sectors. Studying at UCF Downtown places you steps away from city government, community organizations and industry partners, giving you direct access to the people, projects, and possibilities shaping public service today.
Internships
If you’re new to the public sector, an internship is a great way to gain hands-on experience and strengthen your resume. As an MPA student, you’ll have support from our experiential learning coordinator to help you find an internship that aligns with your goals. Placements vary by semester and area of interest, giving you the chance to explore what inspires you and build real-world skills along the way.
Certificates
If you’re pursuing a graduate degree in the School of Public Administration, you could also work toward a graduate certificate using some of the same courses you’re already taking. You’ll need to submit a separate application, but earning a certificate is a strategic way to deepen your expertise and expand your career options. Explore available certificates in emergency management, urban and regional planning, research administration, nonprofit management, and public administration.
Accreditation
UCF’s Master of Public Administration holds accreditation from NASPAA — the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration — recognized worldwide as the gold standard in public service education. This accreditation reflects the program’s commitment to excellence and can help set you apart in today’s competitive job market. From stronger career prospects to higher salaries, a NASPAA-accredited degree helps you lead with confidence. Learn more about what this means for your future on our accreditation page.

Graduation Rates
You’ve got options when it comes to earning your MPA. Our program is designed with flexibility in mind. Full-time students can finish in as little as two academic years (five semesters, including summer), while many choose a part-time path that fits alongside work and family life.
For the 2019-2020 cohort of the 136 entering students, 9 graduated within two academic years, 51 graduated within three academic years, 72 graduated within four academic years, and 84 graduated within five years—reflecting a 62% graduation rate.
