Community Counseling and Research Center
The UCF College of Community Innovation and Education Community Counseling and Research Center (CCRC) offers free individual, couple and family counseling services to the Central Florida community. The CCRC is a state of the art clinical training facility for Master's and Doctoral level counselors-in-training in the Counselor Education program and clinical supervision is provided by program faculty. In addition to providing clinical services, the CCRC provides a venue for conducting empirical research on service delivery and utilization with implications for improved treatment outcomes and the design of training protocols.
UCF Marriage and Family Research Institute
The University of Central Florida Marriage and Family Research Institute (MFRI) was created in 2003 to support and strengthen healthy relationships for individuals, couples and families. The MFRI is committed to (a) conducting and disseminating rigorous research that contributes to the understanding of relationships and provides useful clinical applications; (b) collaborating with community partners to enrich the lives of individuals, couples and families and (c) providing inclusive and accessible services to the widest reach of people across race, ethnicity, ability, religion, class, culture, and sexual orientation.
UCF Play Lab
The UCF Play Lab promotes best practices for serving children through the process of play therapy, a developmentally, responsive approach to counseling children through immersion in the community. The center has developed partnerships with local schools to provide play therapy services to children in need and evaluating the effectiveness of this approach through research. The center further provides opportunities for training, research, publications, and community partnerships.
