Graduate Research Assistants and Interns
Benjamin Adams, B.S., is a PEER Graduate Research Assistant. He received his B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Biological Sciences at Clemson University in May 2018. Currently, he is pursuing his Master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Couple Counseling at UCF. At PEER, Benjamin helps evaluate multiple projects funded by national organizations.
Pamela Askins, B.S., is a PEER Graduate Research Assistant. She graduated with her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in December of 2017. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Counselor Education in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling track at UCF. Prior to her time in PEER, she has worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the MPACT lab at UCF.
Ken Matthews, M.L.I.S., is a PEER Graduate Research Assistant. He graduated from Stetson University with a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion and earned his M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Methodology, Measurement, and Analysis. His research interests include philosophy of science, policy studies, psychometrics, research design, statistics education, and program evaluation. Prior to working with PEER, Ken held a number of positions at Daytona State College including Research Analyst, Director of Academic Policy and Analysis, and most recently Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services.
Felicia Peluso, B.S., is a PEER Graduate Research Assistant. She received her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Human Services at the University of Central Florida in May 2017. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Counselor Education with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UCF. At PEER, Felicia helps evaluate multiple projects funded by national organizations.
Diana (Dawn) Scott, M.A. was a PEER Graduate Research Associate where she performed quantitative and qualitative analysis on various projects. She also completed her internship with PEER. She received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida’s Burnett Honors College in 2010 and her Master’s Degree in Applied Learning and Instruction with a concentration in Business/Training in 2014. Dawn is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Methodology, Measurement and Analysis through the College of Community Innovation and Education. Prior to her work at PEER, Dawn worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Simulation and Training on various projects including Culture Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) for the Office of Naval Research (ONR). Dawn also served as UCF’s Western Region Director for Student Outreach Services (SOS) and was later hired by UCF as an Adjunct Instructor.
Ana Serpa, B.S.
Abraham Tatis, B.S., is a Counselor Education - Clinical Mental Health Master’s student. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Florida State University. He is passionate about this helping profession and continually finding ways to better serve communities by using effective, evidence-based tools. He has been part of the healthcare field for various years, working in behavioral centers and being part of research teams throughout his undergraduate time. He is currently interested in working with individuals from impoverished backgrounds and looks forward to graduating in May 2019.
