Biography

Carley Vasquez is the Graduate Academic Advisor II for the School of Teacher Education at UCF. She holds both a Master’s in Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Social Work and Psychology, all from Florida State University.

Prior to joining UCF, Carley worked as a school social worker. She provided mental health services as an Outpatient Therapist to individuals ranging from ages 5 to 99+, offering support in various settings, including schools, homes, the community, and virtually via Zoom. Her work addressed a wide range of mental health struggles, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD. The majority of Carley’s client population in this role were children and adolescents, where she found herself frequently collaborating with schools, teachers, and family members to promote the child’s well-being and ensure comprehensive, holistic care.

Carley also served as a Counselor at the Leon County Pace Center for Girls, where she provided individual and group therapy to at-risk youth aged 6 to 18 and taught classroom lessons on mental health and wellness. She also played a key role in organizing events, writing grants for non-profit funding, and connecting students and their families with community resources.

In her current role at UCF, Carley provides academic advising to graduate students in the School of Teacher Education both in-person and virtually (via Zoom, phone, and email). She assesses each student’s individual needs and factors affecting their success, offering assistance or referrals as needed. Additionally, she supports and initiates recruitment activities for the graduate programs, such as marketing campaigns and presentations to reach and present to prospective student populations.
