The Career and Technical Education Program is committed to helping those pursuing teaching or training positions in career and technical education attain the highest degree of competence possible in their chosen field. The programs place emphasis on the intellectual growth of each student using research based effective teaching techniques, scholarly learning, laboratory-field experience, and leadership development. The programs are devoted to articulating with the secondary and postsecondary schools, vocational/technical centers, junior and community colleges, universities, military, and professional organizations in the effort to improve the quality of instructional personnel.

Technical Education and Industry Training (BS)

This program is for subject matter experts in any field or industry who wish to become Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers, corporate trainers and managers, or CTE curriculum specialists. Our students include adults with years of work experience as well as traditional students with a passion about a subject. In this program, students learn the skills necessary to transfer their knowledge to their future students. Because of the program’s practical approach, there is a seamless transition from our online classes to applied work environments.

The Technical Education and Industry Training (BS) may be completed fully online, although not all elective options or program prerequisites may be offered online. Newly admitted students choosing to complete this program exclusively via UCF Online classes may enroll with a reduction in campus-based fees.

Graduate Certificate

Local Director of Career & Technical Education

The Local Director of Career and Technical Education Graduate Certificate is designed for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers who wish to advance their career as a program director, coordinator, or othernadministrator type position. It is also for students interested in advancing their knowledge in CTE professional education coursework. This certificate may also, in part, prepare candidates to meet a portion of the State of Florida Department of Education coursework requirements for Certification in Local Director of Career and Technical Education.
