UCF Saturday Reading Camp
The School of Teacher Education, in collaboration with the City of Orlando, operates a unique reading camp where children grades K-6 receive free tutoring in reading from UCF teacher candidates in the elementary education program. In addition, parents participate in a parent education program focused on helping their child improve their reading at home.
For Fall 2020, the UCF Saturday Reading Camp will be offered as a blended face-to-face/remote model, where UCF teacher candidates will provide live interaction for reading support and literature-rich activities. The camp will provide take-home literacy kits available for pick-up every two weeks at the Callahan Neighborhood Center.
