Overview

Are you interested in teaching middle or high school students? Do you enjoy helping adolescents learn English, mathematics, science or social science? UCF's Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education program combines coursework in content areas and pedagogy to prepare you to be an effective teacher and to meet the academic and socio-economic needs of students in schools.

The secondary education program transforms students into teacher candidates. We prepare our graduates to effectively teach students in middle and high school English language arts, mathematics, science or social studies.

This program leads to subject-area certification issued by the Florida Department of Education and covers appropriate requirements for instructing English language learners. A non-certification option is available through our lifelong learning track.
