Overview

The Master of Arts in Teaching in Teacher Education provides initial teacher preparation for students who are seeking to become effective, certified teachers of secondary subject areas. The program is designed for those without a bachelor's degree in education or previously certified in another field. Throughout the program, students will expand their subject area knowledge by specializing in one of our secondary education tracks: art, English language arts, mathematics, science, social science or world languages education.

Graduation from this state-approved program includes the successful completion of a two-semester internship, submission of a comprehensive portfolio and passing scores on all sections of the Florida Teacher Certification Examination.

The Master of Arts in Teaching admits in spring and summer terms only.
