Since 2014-15, the Florida legislature has partially supported Community Partnership Schools™ model replication and sustainability.

Note: Efforts to develop international partnerships, which may involve international travel, are funded by the university, college or other sponsor. No state legislative funding for Community Partnership Schools development and support is used for international travel.

FY 2023-24 Legislative Budget Allocation of $11 Million

  • Fund 36 school sites implementing the Community Partnership Schools model (25% match required)
  • Fund planning grants to support the expansion of the Community Partnership Schools model at up to 8 new school sites (25% match required)
  • Prioritize the execution of data sharing agreements for full implementation of data collection and management system
  • Provide statewide institutes and training for directors, university partners, nonprofit partners, healthcare partners, and school districts to develop plans for needed funding, resourcing, and staff/personnel sustainability
  • Enhance the infrastructure of the UCF Center for Community Schools to match school sites’ needs in grant management, technical assistance, assessment and evaluation, and training and development

FY 2022-23 Legislative Budget Allocation of $7.1 Million

  • Fund 29 school sites implementing the Community Partnership Schools model (25% match required)
  • Fund planning grants to support the expansion of the Community Partnership Schools model at 7 new school sites (25% match required)
  • Understand and analyze data and measures collected by independent evaluation contract through data-driven research/evaluation
  • Continue efforts to engage partners and school sites on data sharing agreements for rollout of data collection and management system
  • Provide statewide institutes and training for directors, university partners, nonprofit partners, healthcare partners, and school districts to develop plans for needed funding, resourcing, and staff/personnel sustainability
  • Expand and enhance the infrastructure of the UCF Center for Community Schools to match school sites’ needs in grant management, technical assistance, assessment and evaluation, and training and development

FY 2021-22 Legislative Budget Allocation of $7.1 Million

  • Fund 26 school sites implementing the Community Partnership Schools model (25% match required)
  • Fund planning grants to support the expansion of the Community Partnership Schools model at 3 new school sites (25% match required)
  • Continued contract with independent evaluation to complete second of a two-year evaluation of Community Partnership Schools
  • Contract and planning of a data collection and management system for comprehensive data collection at Community Partnership School sites
  • Expand the infrastructure of the UCF Center for Community Schools to match school sites’ needs in grant management, technical assistance, assessment and evaluation, and training and development

FY 2020-21 Legislative Budget Allocation of $7.1 Million

  • Fund 26 school sites implementing the Community Partnership Schools™ model (25% match required)
  • Expand the infrastructure of the UCF Center for Community Schools to match the school needs in technical assistance, training and development, assessment and evaluation, and university-assisted partnership
  • Establish contract with independent evaluation to complete first of a two-year evaluation of Community Partnership Schools.

FY 2019-20 Legislative Budget Allocation of $7.1 Million

  • Fund 15 school sites implementing the Community Partnership Schools™ model (25% match required)
  • Fund up to 12 new school sites (25% match required)
  • Expand the infrastructure of the UCF Center for Community Schools to match the school needs in technical assistance, training and development, assessment and evaluation, and university-assisted partnership

FY 2018-19 Legislative Budget Allocation of $1.4 Million

The Florida Legislature allocated $1.4 million in 2018-19 for the following:

  • Continue to provide Community Partnership School services at Evans High School, A Community Partnership School (subject to the 25 percent local match)
  • Continue to fund 10 Community Partnership Schools as development continues
  • Continue the Center for Community Schools at UCF to provide assistance and support to qualified schools in the development of Community Partnership Schools

FY 2017-18 Legislative Budget Allocation of $1 Million

The Florida Legislature allocated $1 million in 2017-18 for the following:

  • Continue to provide Community Partnership School services at Evans High School, A Community Partnership School (subject to the 25 percent local match)
  • Continue to fund nine Community Partnership Schools as development continues
  • Continue the Center for Community Schools at UCF to provide assistance and support to qualified schools in the development of Community Partnership Schools

FY 2016-17 Legislative Budget Allocation of $1.5 Million

The Florida Legislature allocated $1.5 million in 2016-17 for the following:

  • Continue to provide Community Partnership School services at Evans High School, A Community Partnership School (subject to the 25 percent local match)
  • Fund six current planning-grant schools to full-funding Community Partnership Schools (each subject to a 25 percent local match)
  • Continue the Center for Community Schools at UCF to provide assistance and support to qualified schools in the development of Community Partnership Schools

FY 2015-16 Legislative Budget Allocation of $900,000

The Florida Legislature allocated $900,000 in 2015-16 for the following:

  • Core funding for Evans High School, A Community Partnership School in Orlando (continuation)
  • Core funding for three 2014-15 planning grant schools
  • Two new planning grants for Florida schools interested in becoming a Community Partnership School ($75,000/$25,000-local match)
  • A technical assistance center at UCF (continuation)

FY 2014-15 Legislative Budget Allocation of $685,000

The Florida Legislature allocated $685,000 in 2014-15 for the following:

  • Three planning grants for Florida schools interested in becoming a Community Partnership School ($75,000/$25,000-local match)
    • Planning grants were awarded to the Brevard, Pasco and Escambia County school districts.
  • Core funding for Evans High School, A Community Partnership School in Orlando to provide the support and resources needed to impact student achievement (continuation)
  • A technical assistance center at UCF to develop Community Partnership Schools in Florida that adhere to a proven model
    • The Center for Community Schools opened in the fall of 2014 and an assistant director was hired in the spring of 2015.
